Organization Description
Hello. The Catholic Development Commission in Malawi of the Blantyre Archdiocese (CADECOM Blantyre) is an affiliated development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in Malawi.
It is registered in Malawi under The Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) umbrella organization under the Trustees Act of 1962, and is a member of Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA) registration number C026/1994.
DISTRICTS OF OUR OPERATION
CADECOM Blantyre operates within the seven districts of Mwanza, Neno, Mulanje , Phalombe, Blantyre,Chiradzulu and Thyolo.

The organization therefore faces significant challenges in facilitating roles and technical assistance in the implementation of development and relief activities to cover its catchment areas hence the organization is implementing projects in few selected districts.

CADECOM-Blantyre like other CADECOM braches in Malawi exists to create awareness and empower disadvantaged men, women and the youth at all levels to undertake development which is integral, gender and environmentally sensitive, sustainable and which promotes justice, Resilience, human dignity and self-reliance with the active participation of the people themselves so that they take up the responsibility of their own destiny.

Despite being a church organization, targeting of beneficiaries of the development projects is not based on faith affiliations.

The organization’s finance and project management is guided by principles of accountability and transparency, efficiency and effectiveness, commitment, time consciousness, equal dignity of human beings, and gender sensitivity.
